For batch-wise or continuous fine grinding of hard-brittle to medium-hard solids.
Areas of application
Mining and metallurgy, ceramics industry, rocks and soils, glass industry, soil research
Method of operation
The grinding material is comminuted by pressure and shearing loads between two counteracting grinding disks with coarse interlocking teeth. The gap between the two grinding disks can be adjusted externally - even during operation - and determines the fineness of the end product. Pre- and fine crushing is also possible in one step, because the Disk Mill PULVERISETTE 13 can be combined with the Jaw Crusher PULVERISETTE 1. Additional information about the instrument combination:
Jaw Crusher PULVERISETTE 1 and Disk Mill PULVERISETTE 13
Features overview
High throughput up to 150 kg/h
Fine grinding down to 0.1 mm
Fast, easy cleaning
Simple operation
Fast grinding disk change
Precision setting of the final fineness even during grinding
High service life due to generously dimensioned bearings
Combinable with the Jaw Crusher PULVERISETTE 1
Certified safety (CE mark)
2-year warranty
Equipment
The standard equipment delivered with the Disk Mill PULVERISETTE 13 does not include grinding disks. Grinding disks are offered in 4 different materials and must be ordered as accessories.
Especially for iron-free grinding, the Disk Mill PULVERISETTE 13 can be ordered with a complete polymer coating inside of the grinding chamber. The polymer coating has to be ordered separately order no. 13.1090.16

Material data for fixed and movable grinding disks
Material | Main component of the material | Density g/cm³ | Abrasion resistance | Used for grinding material |
Hardened cast steel | Cr - Fe | 3.85 | Good | Hard, brittle samples |
Manganese steel | Mn - Fe | 7.9–8 | Good | Very hard, brittle samples |
Hard metal tungsten carbide | WC | 14.05 | Very good | Very hard, abrasive samples |
Zirconium oxide ¹ | ZrO2 | 6.0 | Good | Medium-hard, brittle samples, iron-free grinding |
1)Grinding disks of zirconium oxide are only suitable for grinding ceramic materials, minerals, etc. and never for hard-tough samples, such as metals.
Achieve high final finenesses in a very short grinding time:
Below are examples listed – always in reference to 1 kg feed quantity and 20 mm particle size and
arranged by material types from hard to medium-hard.
